Jeff and I are in wedding mode tonight. He tried on his wedding outfit (and is looking handsome!), and he has even started packing his carry-on! The wedding is just over 3 months away and things are getting exciting.
There have been some changes to our guests' itineraries (and our own as well) as it relates to departure days and times, an overnight in Toronto, etc. Kim should be in touch with you all, but as I receive the information I will pass it on as well.

Moving right along!
Hi everyone! Our wedding plans are moving along full speed and things are starting to get very exciting! Our entire wedding group is paid in full (or has made other arrangements with Kim), and all the travel plans are set. There was a change in schedule for our guests who are traveling through Toronto, but as far as I know Kim has been in contact with those that will be affected by the changes. Jeff and I are flying through Toronto as well, but our schedule change ends up in us leaving early and spending an overnight in Toronto, then getting into Cancun earlier the next day than originally planned. Good deal!
We are in the process of compiling a package of our favourite day excursions in the Cancun area, our best travel tips, info on shopping, restaurants, night life, etc. and will be mailing or delivering a little booklet to each wedding guest or family to get the excitement brewing. In only 6 1/2 months we will all be congregating in Cancun to get the celebration started!

Guest list coming together!
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great summer and that all of our teacher-type friends and relatives are settling back into the "back-to-school" routine. It was nice to see many of you over the holidays, and Jeff and I are now getting excited for our upcoming wedding! We are just over 7 months away from the big day and our planning is moving along. Our guest list is coming together, with a confirmed 34 people booked through Kim, our SellOffVacations travel agent (including the bride and groom!). Jeff and I are planning more of the smaller details of the wedding now, like menu choices, ceremony and reception musicians (my favourite part!), etc.

Deposit deadline extension
For any guests wanting to get in on our Air Canada Vacations group deal, your deposit is now due by August 20th at the latest. Turns out you will have a little more time to get in on the deal, but please book sooner vs. later if possible so that planning can continue. Deposits due July 30th!
Hello friends and family! I hope everyone is having a nice summer and that you have time to travel, relax, and spend time doing whatever you choose. :) This is just a friendly announcement that a $300 non-refundable deposit for each wedding guest booking through our agent is due by July 30th. Your final payment is not due until September 30th, but Air Canada Vacations is only holding our seats until July 30th, so if you'd like in on the deal you will have to reserve your spot by putting the deposit down by then.

Getting the ball rolling...
Hi friends and family! Jeff and I are sending out our wedding invitations this week - so exciting! Many of you already have questions about pricing, travel dates, etc. so I'd like to share some information with you to help you to determine how you will RSVP, or to help you to begin your travel planning and budgeting. I will start by familiarizing you with our group booking plan. Our travel agent is Kim Johnson from SellOffVacations in Saskatoon, and she will take care of everyone who chooses to reserve a spot in our group booking.
Jeff and I have a group booking through Kim, who is working with Air Canada Vacations. Basically our group booking allows people to depart from Calgary or Toronto on the direct flight to Cancun. DON'T WORRY if you are from Winnipeg, Saskatoon, or any other Canadian community in between. The pricing I will share with you includes the commuter flight from wherever you are to Calgary or Toronto (prices may vary slightly if you are originating somewhere other than Winnipeg or S'toon, but not by much). Most Saskatoon and area guests would fly out of Calgary. Most Winnipeg and area guests would fly out of Toronto to get the best flight itinerary and price. Obviously guests west of Calgary will also fly out of Calgary.
If you are from the US or New Zealand, you may also contact our travel agent to see if she can offer you a travel itinerary and price point that would work for you. If not, you are always more than welcome to book on your own, online or with a local travel agent. She has informed me that she will do her best to help out any of our guests who contact her. I will give her our list of invited guests so that she will know who you are (and so random people can't try to get in on the deal if we didn't invite them! Haha). :)
Now, prices.
These prices include all taxes, and are for people staying in a Junior Suite (basic hotel resort room). Upgrades to fancy oceanfront or beachfront walk-out rooms are available at a higher price, if you're interested. You can talk to Kim about that and she will hook you up!

Double Occupancy: $1,509.39 per person

Sneak peek: Wedding venue
Here it is, the Gran Caribe Real Resort & Spa in Cancun, México! This is the pool where Jeff got his infamous sunburn of 2011.... the remnants of that thing lasted almost a year! If you haven't seen the picture, ask nicely and maybe it will surface sometime. :)
And here is a sneak peek of the wedding gazebo at the Gran Caribe. It's going to be such a great venue, and we are already excited for the big day! I've started shopping for the dress, bridesmaids' dresses, etc. I have a feeling that the next year is going to fly by!
